ITASA’s new production plant in Mexico will be operative by end of 2018[:]

Following Itasa’s vision of becoming a global release liner producer supporting market leaders worldwide, the company has launched the project of a new production plant in Mexico.

The new premises are located in Queretaro. The desingn stage is already nished and building works have begun. Itasa’s investment for this location includes a new Bobst coating machine able to produce papers and films, 2 Euromac slitters, in-line and off-line flexo printers and storage space to produce and supply up to 150 Million SQM release liners from Mexico. With the new production site, Itasa will become the 1st global player to produce release liners in LatinAmerica.

This ambitious plan will allow Itasa to provide even more exibility to its customers, offering them the best service and personalized solutions. Itasa expects the start-up of the new facility by the end of 2018.

Since the company’s inception in 1974 in Andoain, Spain, ITASA has become one of Europe’s leading commercial silicone coaters, selling release liners worldwide.

In recent years, over €30 million have been invested to acquire state-of-the-art machinery and expand the company’s facilities. As a result of these investments and the significant efforts in innovation, ITASA has developed an advanced technology for the manufacturing of release liners, which places the company at the forefront of solutions aimed at maximum profitability and ef ciency for the client.

ITASA has the ability to undertake high volume series at speeds of up to 1,000 meters per minute on widths of up to 2.3 meters. Additionally, the current selection of machines offers the choice of undertaking short, personalized batches and applying special treatments.

The expansion project of ITASA continues and now the company has premises in Spain, Mexico and Malaysia. Sales are expected to grow by 10% in 2017, and reach over 80m€ by the end of the year.
